Professional Gainesville, FL Dog Groomers

At Smoochie Pooch, we take pride in our high standards of customer service. We’re always here to answer your questions, address concerns, and offer tips and suggestions to support your pet’s care both during their stay and once they’re back home.

We know that grooming can be stressful for both pets and their owners, and we’re committed to making the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible for you and your dog. Our focus is on quality over quantity. And while we love making dogs look fabulous, we always prioritize your pet’s safety and well-being over their appearance.

How much does grooming cost?

Each grooming appointment is customized to fit your pet’s unique needs, so the cost of a groom can vary based on several factors. To get an estimate, give us a call at (352) 333-3100 and tell us a bit about your pet, such as their breed, size, age and the grooming services you’d like. We’ll provide an initial quote, but please note that the final price may be adjusted after we see your pet in person at the appointment.

How long does it take to groom a dog?

Before every appointment, we take the time to learn about your preferences and your pet’s individual needs to provide a grooming experience you’ll both enjoy. Plan for each session to last about 2-3 hours, giving us the time needed to care for your pet with the attention and gentle skill they deserve.

While we strive to complete each grooming within three hours, sessions for larger dogs or those with matted coats may take a bit longer to ensure their safety and comfort.

Will my dog be separated from other dogs?

Each pet is given individualized care and attention. To ensure your pet’s safety while with us, all dogs are kept separate unless they come from the same family and are brought in together.

Customer Reviews

Marie C.
"The best groomers we have ever used! They are patient, kind, and always do a great job. I have a very finicky chihuahua who doesn't like a lot of people, but loves and gets excited to see her groomer!"
Jamie T.
"So amazing! My pups love it here! They always look amazing and they smell great for days after."
Elle H.
"Even though I don't live in Gainesville anymore, I still only ever go to Smoochie Pooch for my dog's baths/nail trims/grooming. They are incredibly capable groomers, but even more important, they're patient with dogs who are timid and scared. They were a huge part of my pet's growth. She's come a long way with new people, new places, and new experiences thanks to them. As long as I live in Florida, I will make the 2+ hour trip to come to them. If you're in Gainesville, you have no excuse not to."
Hanna I.
"My puppy had a mix of furs for a coat and had quite a few mats. Misty told me that she would try everything to get rid of the mats. She wasn't satisfied so she called me, which was greatly appreciated, and gave me the option of either a long hair which had the potential for more mats or to give him a shorter styling. I went with the latter and was expecting him to be completely shaved. When I arrived to pick him up, I was met with the friendly smile that was Megan and she helped me pick out a shirt for him. The moment was finally here. Would he be in his "skives?" Would he need a shirt? When he came out, my heart stopped. Standing right before me was the cutest little dog I could have imagined! Misty gave him the Teddy Bear Cut. I should've trusted Misty; she would never let an ugly dog leave her sight. Thank you to Misty and Megan for letting my visit be so pleasant!"

Ashlyn Schoof, Gainesville Florida

Ashlyn Schoof

Pet Stylist

Ashlyn began her grooming career in January 2016, inspired by a lifelong connection to animals and a family legacy in the pet grooming industry. Growing up, she often joined her mom, a former vet tech and groomer’s assistant, at work, sparking her love for animal care. Initially aspiring to become a veterinarian, Ashlyn discovered her true passion while working as a bather nine years ago and never looked back.

Known for her love of doodles, Ashlyn takes pride in tailoring her grooming techniques to suit each dog’s unique needs. Her goal is to ensure every pet is happy and comfortable during their time with her, and she’s even been known to host impromptu dance parties with her furry clients. She looks forward to expanding her expertise by becoming pet CPR certified and completing a canine esthetician course, with hopes of debuting in the grooming show ring in 2025.

At home, Ashlyn enjoys outdoor adventures and cozy nights with her three dogs: Olivia, a Jack Russell/Pug mix; Sage, a Husky/Pitbull mix; and Spirit, a Miniature Poodle. Whether visiting the dog park, relaxing at the beach, or gardening, Ashlyn treasures her time with her pets.

Ashlyn wants her clients to know that regular grooming is vital for their pet’s health. Beyond making them look their best, it allows her to notice subtle changes in their skin, coat, or behavior. Her dedication to providing exceptional care ensures that every pet leaves her salon happy, healthy, and looking their best.

She is also a Certified Canine Esthetician, with a passion for tailoring her services to the unique needs of each pet. Laura values continuing education to stay current with the latest trends and techniques in the grooming industry, ensuring she provides the best care possible.
