Pet Stylist

Melissa has been grooming since 2021 and bathing since 2013. She started her grooming journey in San Diego. There she was originally a cosmetologist. She decided to combine her two loves of styling and animals into one job! Melissa has loved animals ever since she was little.

Her hobbies include art and home renovations. Outside of works she spends her time being a mom to her wonderful three little girls. She has two pets. One is a German shepherd/lab mix named Maverick and the other is a white standard poodle named Ace.

Her greatest accomplishment is being a great groomer! She feels has gained a lot of confidence in her skills through years of hard work! Melissa’s favorite part about grooming is getting to see all the unique personalities of the dogs and transforming the dog during their spa day.

Mia James

Pet Stylist

Mia’s dog groomer journey began in 2020 in Minneapolis. Initially she was introduced to grooming while overseeing a doggie daycare. She quickly discovered her passion for working one-on-one with dogs and building close relationships with their owners.

In 2024, Mia joined our team here in Indiana, drawn to Smoochie Pooch’s unwavering dedication to canine care. Mia found that her commitment to excellence perfectly aligned with Smoochie Pooch’s mission to prioritize every dog’s well-being.

Outside of work, Mia shares her life with Pluto, a rescue dog she adopted in 2021. Pluto’s journey from a troubled past to becoming a beloved family member inspired Mia to specialize in rehabilitating and nurturing dogs, particularly those facing behavioral challenges. When Mia isn’t grooming, she is lifting weights at the gym or enjoying the outdoors.
