Pet Stylist Job Opening

Responsibilities:

• Perform bathing and grooming services for pets, including but not limited to brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, and ear cleaning.
• Assess the condition of pets’ coats, skin, teeth, and overall health, and communicate any concerns to pet owners.
• Stay informed about breed standards and specific grooming requirements for different pet breeds.
• Provide value-added services, such as spa treatments, deshed treatments, and specialty styling, based on customer preferences.
• Handle and restrain pets safely and compassionately during grooming procedures.
• Build strong relationships with pet owners by understanding their preferences and addressing any specific grooming requests.
• Keep accurate records of pet grooming services, appointments, and any health-related observations in our customer database software.
• Schedule appointments for both rebooks and walk-ins.
• Educate pet owners on proper at-home grooming techniques and recommend grooming products.
• Groom to capacity levels (4+ pets per shift), managing workload efficiently and maintaining productivity in order to complete grooms and meet customer expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming salon, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for pets.
• Sanitize equipment after each groom and maintain groomer equipment in optimal condition.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Pet Groomer with a focus on delivering exceptional grooming services.
• In-depth knowledge of various pet breeds, their coat types, and grooming requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle pets of varying levels of difficulty with professionalism, patience, compassion, and a gentle touch.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high grooming standards.
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of grooming sessions and lifting pets when necessary.
• Familiarity with grooming tools and equipment.
• Passion for animals and a genuine interest in their well-being.
• Willingness to grow, learn, and take constructive criticism.
• Punctuality and ability to work scheduled hours.
