What happens during a dog grooming appointment?

1. Every grooming appointment begins with a hands-on assessment of your pet, and every service is customized specifically for your pet’s needs.

2. Your pampered pooch will receive a bath and massage with high quality, nourishing shampoo and conditioner. Additional options such as anal gland expression and tooth brushing are available during the bath as well.

3. Dogs are gently towel-dried after their bath. We then utilize our professional driers to dry your dog, ensuring their comfort with soft headbands called Happy Hoodies. We also adjust the intensity of our dryers for anxious pets and when drying their heads.

4. Once dry, dogs are then brushed extensively with proper brushes and combs. We also utilize fluff driers during brushing for a crisp finish.

5. When trimming dog nails, we go the extra mile by buffing nails to smooth sharp edges and prevent cracking.

6. Ears are gently cleaned with pet-safe cleaners, and ear hair may be plucked upon request.

Pet Stylist

Emma has been grooming since 2020. She joined the Smoochie Pooch family in April of 2023 after speaking with the owners and seeing their love for the business and their employees. Emma began grooming her English Springer Spaniel at home, fell in love with the process and became a professional pet groomer.

Emma received the Rising Star Groomer award at Paragon School for Grooming as well as a Pet Stylist certificate from Paragon. Her favorite part of grooming is giving dogs confidence and making them feel special. When not at work, you may find Emma working out, going on walks, watching movies or working on DIY projects.

Brianna Lee

Pet Stylist

Brianna began her dog grooming career in 2024 after transitioning from event planning. Inspired by deshedding her Chow mix at a self-service pet wash and memories of helping her mom groom their doodle, she discovered her passion for grooming. She apprenticed with Smoochie Pooch, earning her certification soon after.

She especially enjoys deshedding breeds and finds it deeply rewarding. After losing her beloved Chow mix, Sami, she now shares her life with Winnie, a 5-year-old pit mix. They love walking, kayaking, hiking, and snuggling.

Brianna’s goal is to open her own grooming business once she gains more experience. She wants pet owners to know she treats every dog with love and care while continuously learning to provide the best grooming experience possible.

Kaylee Banco

Pet Stylist

Kaylee is dedicated to providing the best care for your pets. With a Pet Tech CPR and First Aid certification, she ensures a safe and comfortable grooming experience. Kaylee is passionate about gaining experience in breed-specific grooms and creative grooming, always striving to improve her craft. She loves working with all breeds, particularly double-coated dogs, and enjoys helping them look and feel their best.

Kaylee treats every pet like her own, with a big heart and a genuine love for animals. Outside of grooming, Kaylee enjoys spending time with her 15-year-old calico cat, Sophie, who is her loyal companion and source of comfort.

Charlize Perkins

Pet Stylist

Charlize began her grooming career in January 2023, starting as a bather before transitioning into a professional groomer after completing certification through PetSmart’s grooming academy. Although dog grooming isn’t her only career focus, Charlize is dedicated to mastering the craft. Her passion for working with dogs started at a dog hotel, where she discovered her love for animals over people. Charlize enjoys grooming a variety of breeds and styles but is particularly fond of her own mixed-breed dog, Kash, who is a big baby. Outside of work, Charlize is committed to learning and expanding her skills, holding a Bachelor’s degree in general studies from Ball State. Her goal is always to ensure pets look and feel their best through patience, dedication, and care.
