Mikayla at Fort Wayne North

Mikayla Voris

Pet Stylist

Mikayla is a passionate groomer who embarked on her journey in 2021, honing her skills through education at Penn Foster. She has always had a deep-rooted desire to work with animals, as a kid she wanted to be a horse trainer. In adulthood Mikayla found grooming to be a perfect blend of creativity and purpose. She hopes to earn to develop her skills to be as good as Elli, our VP of Operations, who she considers a remarkable mentor and handler.

Having previously worked in the veterinary industry, Mikayla understands the importance of helping animals in need. Her ultimate goal is to earn her Pet CPR certification, striving to provide the utmost care for her furry clients.

Mikayla’s favorite breeds to groom are Australian shepherds and Pomeranians. At home, she shares her life with a diverse fur family: three horses named Harley, Shah, and Cosmo, along with two dogs—Rhys, an Australian Shepherd, and Kenai, a Pomeranian—and a cat named Clarice. She loves hiking with her beloved dogs and horses

For Mikayla, every grooming session is an opportunity to ensure the well-being of your pet. She goes above and beyond to suggest personalized add-ons and packages, tailored to meet the specific needs of each furry friend. Chasity Waite

Pet Stylist

Chastity began grooming in 2009. She has been CPR and AKC certified in the past. She chose this career because she has always loved animals. Chastity became a bather first and learned how to groom. She has been doing it ever since! Her favorite breeds to groom are Shih Tzus and doodles. But she loves grooming anything with a fluffy coat.

She has five pets at home. A pitbull named Two-Face, a yorkie mix named Charlee, a pit mix named June and 2 cats named River and Cubby. The dogs love to go for walks at the park and June loves her car rides. The whole family enjoys cuddling together.

When Chasity was a kid she wanted to be a veterinarian and if she wasn’t grooming now she would probably be working with children or the elderly.

Chastity loves her job and what she does. She take great pride in grooming and she always treats every dog as if it were her own. She loves developing a relationship with them!

One thing she wishes every customer knew about dog grooming is how much it hurts when customers don’t take the time to acknowledge what the groomer teaches them. While the client entrusts the groomer to groom their furry companion, the groomer also gives the pet parent the knowledge they need to keep the grooming process easy for the pet and the groomer.

Alexa Lopez, Fort Wayne North

Alexa Lopez

Pet Stylist

Alexa started grooming in 2016, beginning as a bather and quickly discovering her love for working with animals. Now a certified groomer for both cats and dogs, her goal is to become a Master Groomer. She loves that grooming lets her be creative while making a difference in pets’ lives. Alexa is committed to each pet’s comfort and works with a gentle hand, building trust to help them feel safe and relaxed.

Her favorite breed to groom is the poodle because of the endless styling possibilities. She believes grooming isn’t just about making pets look cute—it’s like a spa day, a workout, and a makeover all in one. It takes patience and sometimes a little treat to keep pets comfortable and looking great!

At home, Alexa has two cats and a snake. Dilbert, a gray tabby, is 10 years old, and Marvin, her tuxedo kitten, is 8 months old. She also has a palmetto corn snake named Bug, who has big “bug” eyes and likes to chill in his enclosure. When she’s not grooming, she enjoys spending time with her pets, relaxing on the couch or working on art projects.

Alexa admits she once dreamed of being a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, but now she couldn’t imagine doing anything other than grooming. If she weren’t a groomer, she’d still be working with animals or creating art.
