Smoochie Pooch is Northwest Indiana’s largest pet grooming service provider and has extended our services to Florence, Kentucky.  Our commitment is to provide the finest level of Pet Care services.  Smoochie Pooch has been in operation since 2009, now with multiple locations and four mobile vans.  We provide the highest level of service and convenience to our customers.  

Job Brief

Smoochie Pooch hires enthusiastic, skilled and customer driven individuals that are committed to high standards of customer service.  The Regional Grooming Manager is responsible for day-to-day supervision, coaching and development of the grooming team. The Regional Grooming Manager will also be responsible the day to day management and oversite of the mobile vans and salons alongside the Business Development Manager.  Direct customer interaction is required.  Courteous and professional customer service is always expected.

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the grooming team.
  • Must be an ‘on the production floor’ leader-observing, analyzing, questioning, discussing, coaching and leading others in order to continually improve operational performance.
  • Establish, communicate and improve operational, and employee processes and procedures, including grooming skills and customer service skills.
  • Monitor key groomer performance indicators and adjust resources and provide coaching required to meet company objectives.
  • Work with the Facility Manager to ensure that equipment, salons and mobiles are maintained per company policy
  • Maintain an upbeat, positive I WANNA attitude with customers and team members.

  • Conducts and coordinates on-the-job training for the grooming team and ensures all employees receive the necessary skills training to perform their jobs
  • Onboard new groomers, ensuring their completion of all training requirements and annual safety certifications, evaluating the quality of grooms, and providing ongoing learning opportunities
  • Conduct bi-annual employee performance reviews

  • Develops, champions, and drives customer retention initiatives.
  • Assesses the quality of customer service and provides direction for enhancements.

  • Participate as a member of the management team to brainstorm, plan, and implement innovative ways to grow and improve the business.

  • Assist with the preparation and communication of the annual budget.
  • Oversees the management of mobile and salon costs.
  • Work with the Business Development Manager to implement LEAN initiatives maximize production efficiency, eliminate bottlenecks, and increase workflow
  • Five years plus grooming experience, highly proficient with all breeds
  • ISB knowledge a plus
  • Management experience with a team of 20 or more.
  • Demonstrates team management, delegation and issue resolution skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with individuals
